Ethical Clothing Australia is a not for profit agency that audit Australian clothing suppliers to ensure fair and safe working environments. The audit process protects all local workers in our entire supply chain (including subcontractors), and guarantees they are working safely, are being paid a fair wage, and are receiving all their legal entitlements.
ACC have a certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in place. This system ensures all decisions made at every level of our business acknowledge and minimize the impact we make. We are continually looking for areas of improvement so we can minimize our impact further and move towards zero waste and zero carbon.
We have initiated an off-shore supplier code of practice which ensures all international manufacturers employed by ACC meet the SA8000 standards for social responsibility and workplace practices.
The Australian government introduced the Modern Slavery Act to encourage businesses to seek out and remove slavery from their supply chain. Only companies with an annual turnover of $100m are required to sign. As a supplier to qualifying companies ACC must perform yearly audits of our supply chain and report any risks of modern slavery.
The Victorian government ethical supplier register lists local manufacturers of clothing, workwear, and PPE that have had their supply chain audited by a third party and are deemed suitable businesses to dress government departments.
ACC have ISO 9001 certification for quality systems and deliverables. This certification ensures our business is run efficiently, without waste, and our staff are treated fairly and equitably.
Sedex help businesses make ethical procurement choices by analysing supply chains and auditing manufacturers. The Sedex community is a global network of companies dedicated to fair and equitable business practices.
City Switch is a government initiative to assist office based businesses measure their greenhouse gas emissions and make steps to help reduce these emissions with a goal of reaching net zero emissions.
